My paintings begin with crystalline structures—forms shaped by natural order, geometric precision, and patterns of growth. Working from my own photographs, I digitally layer and compress multiple images, allowing the logic of the screen—stacking, transparency, repetition, and spatial flattening—to become a collaborator in the composition. This process creates a framework that challenges our sense of depth and space.

Yet the work is not driven by systems alone. I approach painting intuitively, responding to what the digital structure suggests rather than following it precisely. Painting becomes a negotiation between order and intuition—between geological formation, digital processes, and the unpredictable decisions of the hand.

I am interested in how images change as they move between different forms and processes. In a world where technology increasingly shapes how we see and experience images, painting offers a way to slow those processes down and make them visible. Each work moves through a series of transformations: from crystalline form to photograph, from photograph to digital composition, and finally into paint. At every stage, something is preserved, something is altered, and something unexpected emerges.

Within these transformations, I am interested in how a personal voice can emerge from systems that increasingly shape how we see and understand the world. Rather than resisting technology, I work with it, allowing the physical act of painting—through touch, revision, and intuition—to introduce something distinctly human into an otherwise controlled process.

Ultimately, my paintings explore the space between emergence and disappearance, where forms seem to come into being and dissolve, and where depth and space remain unresolved. As rigid structures soften and familiar forms become less certain, the paintings invite a slower kind of looking. I am drawn to the possibility that these ambiguous spaces can feel both mysterious and comforting, offering a sense of quiet discovery—as though we are glimpsing a world just beyond the one we know.
